Super Regional Updates... Finally.

OK, so I got lazy. Special thanks to Mike for imitating one of those little yip yip dogs that never shuts the hell up. Here are the updated standings:

1. Mike Lawson - 29 Points
2. Melissa Murdaugh - 25 Points
3. Jason Williams - 22 Points
4. Rhyne Stowe - 20 Points
4. Mark Heckle - 20 Points
6. Roland Hundley - 18 Points

Mike can still pick up points with UNC in the finals and winning it all. Jason and Mark can get points with Rice making the finals. Melissa, Roland, and Rhyne are done scoring.

For picking a team in the finals, you get 4 points plus 3 points x the regional ranking of that team. So, if Rice makes the finals, Jason and Mark will pick up 7 points (as Rice was ranked #1 in their regional). If this does happen, Jason and Mike will be tied at 29 for first. The winner will then be determined by the tiebreaker. Jason has chosen 13 as the amount of runs scored in the final game and Mike has 15. If there are 14 runs scored, I have no idea what the hell we're going to do. Any suggestions?

Super Regional Updates

The SR updates will be posted tonight because I've grown tired of the Urban Myeresque tactics by Mike an unnamed individual. Or if I'm playing great poker tonight, then maybe not. Wait, great poker? Yep, the updates will definitely be done tonight. Damn you, river card...

A fine example of the tactics used by Urban Myer and one of our very own.

Regional Round

Well, the regionals are over and there have been surprises galore. And a scandal or two. Only 3 of the 8 national seeds survived. The Cowboys of OSU got busted for a bat with a flattened side, yet still advanced. Clemson got hosed out of hosting a Super Regional because the head of the committee that assigns the Regional and Super Regional sites is the Mississippi State Athletic Director. Michigan, a #2 seed, knocks off the #1 national seed and still has to travel (Big Blue didn't submit a bid for the Super Regional host in time) to Oregon State, a #3 seed. Four of the Super Regionals will start on Friday and the other four will start on Saturday. This round is best 2 out of 3. Here are the match ups:

Series that begin on Friday
Chapel Hill - North Carolina versus The USC
Houston - Rice versus Texas A&M
Louisville - Louisville versus Oklahoma State
Starkville - Mississippi State versus Clemson

Series that begin on Saturday
Corvallis - Oregon State versus Michigan
Fullerton - Cal State Fullerton versus UCLA
Tempe - Arizona State versus Ole Miss
Wichita - Wichita State versus UC Irvine

And finally, here are the current standings:

1. Mike Lawson - 21 points
2. Rhyne Stowe - 16 points
3. Melissa Murdaugh - 15 points
4. Jason Williams - 14 points
4. Roland Hundley - 14 points
6. Mark Heckle - 12 points

The standings will be updated after the Super Regional round. Good luck to everyone!
